Bian Zhigang, Deputy Head of China's Defense S&T Bureau, Under Investigation for Corruption

June 24 – According to the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and the National Commission of Supervision, Bian Zhigang, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (SASTIND), is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law. He is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervisory investigation by the CCDI and the National Commission of Supervision.

Public reports show that Bian Zhigang has long worked at SASTIND, having previously served as Director of the Third Department, Director of the Planning Department, and Chief Engineer of the bureau. In February 2024, he was appointed as a member of the SASTIND Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director.
